What do you think I'll do in the 1/4 mile?
I plan to go racing wednesday the 21st at LACR. Ther is a Dyno shop near by so I will have it tuned in the afternoon and go racing that night.
You can see my specs in my signature. I don't have any idea of the weight of my car, nor the rear gear ratio. I'm guessing that it is less htan 3.45:1 I told Keisler that I had a 3:45 rear and the speedo gear they sent shows a lot slower than I am acctually going.
You can click on my dyno chart to see how much power I make at the flywheel. The tires I have now are 17" Kuhmo 255/45.
Any ideas of what I should run there?
thanks,
~Jay

Didn't you get a rear wheel # also? I think you have 11 sec potential with your setup, but realistically...... How big are your rear tires? You will likely be traction constrained. Have you done this before? It's harder than it looks! Planning on powershifthing? Just to throw out a number, I will say 12.5, with a mph that looks high for the time.... what would that be? 115? Good luck and try not to break anything! :) MJ
research, research..... add: If you are really putting down 400 rwhp and 440 rwtq, that should get you well into the 11s with drag radials. Don't be afraid to shut it down if you get bent out of shape!!!!

Jay:
Your setup is pretty similar to the one I used to run. I used to run:
468ci
10:1 Compression
Comp 294S Solid Flat Tappet
"206" Heads Worked Over with 2.19/1.88 Valves
Strip Dominator Intake w/ 850 Double Pumper
I ran a best of 12.1 @ 118mph. In my opinion you are going to have a rough time hooking up with those lower profile tires (I've seen it happen before with my buddies 514ci Mustang). I ran slicks with my combo. You have a a roller cam whereas I only ran a solid flat tappet. But my intake was much better than the one you are running (I ran the Torker II and it shouldn't be considered a performance piece IMO). I would say that mid 12s should be do-able with proper driving and decent traction. I also ran a 4.11 rear end with a 4 speed (which is probably similar to your tranny and gear combination). Good luck and let us know how you do!

Somewhere in the 12's depending on how many times you have been at the track
Don't forget to post the RWHP numbers from the chassis dyno

Yep, I'm thinking somewhere in the 12's like everyone else. With your tires and if the track and air temp is warm it will probably be mid to high 12's but I but your mph will be really good.

Re: What do you think I'll do in the 1/4 mile? (burners)
thanks,
That is what I guessed. I have been to the track a couple times before with the old engine. Early in the day tracktion is pretty good, but after a few imports blow up the track gets messy.
If I get bitten by the bug I may get some 15" drag radials soon :) How wide will fit on the car without changing the trailing arms?

now that i read the question again.
what do i think YOU will do in the 1/4 mile? about 3 minutes
see my earlier reply about your cars potential.

Re: What do you think I'll do in the 1/4 mile? (OatBoy)
doesnt LACR have a lot of altitude?
Altitude Correction
LACR is 2,710 ft. above sea level.
To figure the altitude factor the formula is as follows:
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.
