Default Stupid exhaust/muffler question

Headers and sidepipes are making me go deaf! I bought a couple short glasspack mufflers with louvers inside. There were no instructions if these were directional. Should the louvers angle away or toward the exhaust flow?

Toward the flow for quiter & restrictive.
Away from the flow for less restrictive.

Thanks,
Not sure with the headers and sidepipes that a little restriction would have much of an effect on a 300hp engine. I'll go for quieter.
