What brands of aftermarket seats?
I'm trying to figure out what type of aftermarket seats to go with. And was wondering what experiances anyone on the forum has had good or bad with the different brands available.

Re: What brands of aftermarket seats? (vettasy)
I'm going with '03 Z06 seats. :D
We're having to modify the brackets to fit, and I have a feeling we'll be cutting into the floor a little bit but they look and feel great. And they're Vette parts. :)
Oh, and since they didn't come with a drivers side slider, we're just bolting the passenger seat to the floor as-is with no adjustment. No need to really with nobody in back. :D

We should have available in a few weeks a seat installation kit and a Corbeau seat package that uses the GT II seats.
We may also be offering the A4's

Corbeau, Recaro, Sparco........I'm in a similar boat, will just need to find a local dealer and sit in them and see if I like them......though my seats are still a long way off.

Found a guy 3 hours away that had some from a wrecked '03. I let him keep the drivers' side bracket/slider and he even dropped them off down here on his way to San Antonio.
They are quite light, BTW. I was very surprised. Should be a good weight savings. They're comfy as all get-out too.

In the C5 forsale forum, of course. :)
We could start a thread over there and ask them if the C5s can weave in-and-out of traffic as well as the C3s...

Well, I have some more information. Concerning the weight of the seats. We weighed a stock '78 seat at 35 lbs. The GTS II seat weighs 32 lbs.
We have nearly all the parts built to make complete kits so we should be able to sell them very shortly. The price will be about $450 per seat ($900 for a pair). Before you react to the price keep in mind that we are modifying the seat and making new mounts so they will fit in a Corvette. Most seats offered are far too tall for the average 6' person to sit in the car. We have lowered the mounts so that someone that is 6'2" should be able to fit.
The GTS II is available in black and grey
and the A4 is available in Blue, Yellow, Red and Black

Nice! C3's have some of the worst seats ever. Any difference in weight?

There are at least 3 (maybe 4) significantly different C3 seat designs. My 1981 seats fit like a glove and actually have an electronic seat adjustment. Keep in mind readers that the 1979-1982 seats are lighter than earlier C3 seats, possibly lighter than C5 seats (as long as you delete the electronic adjustment gizmo).
