Default Qjet thermostatic choke, what other options?

I'm pulling my hair out because where I live is semi cold in the morning so engine temps stay cool and choke never wants to open causing rough driving. It doesnt help either that the performer intake crossover is partially blocked with gasket metal plate.

I tried Bubba method of manual choke lever but it was too hard to move wire due to all the turns in cable. I just need to have semi closed for about 5 minutes then wide open is OK. Would electric choke conversion do anything?

the electric choke conversion should work because it is not controled by the exhaust heat like you have now.
