Shorter spacing in top.

The bottom end probably won't matchup. Only the top matters.

Re: Front springs again!!! (Jughead)
so whats the deal i ve read to many opions on this? i installed my springs wrong! i lined up the bottom thinking the top would follow, NOT! Now that i know this i can reinstall them, but will the car sit right without cutting any thing off? why doesnt the botttom matter? if the spring is not in the seat it will sit up the thickness of the spring, no? wich ones will ride better ? stock or 460 lb?

I have been skeptical of this fact, too. It doesn't make sense to me, but I cannot
argue with the many people that have stated this. Try 'em seated in the top
and try them out. Only you can be the true judge of your vette's ride. If you
want a soft ride, I would say stock springs.
I ordered mine locally (Robbin's Auto). They had one spring for SB w/o air
and another for BB or SB w/air. Both springs had a rate of about 460 - the
difference being the total length of the spring.
As a last resort, I have kept the original springs. I just don't want to paint them.
The stock rate is something like 300.
Oh - I have also heard claims that you must drive on them for a few days to let them 'settle'.
Dunno about that ... but better safe than sorry.
Hey - we used to live in Danvers ... still get around to Peabody weekly.
If you see a gray Buick waving to you, it's probably me ... check the plate.

OE rated springs will ride much better and be better balanced front to rear.
If you want a slightly stiffer spring, use OE BB with air spring. I think Corvette Central has them.
