Default Carb Adjustment

I've read this before but just want to make sure...on a Q-Jet turning the mixtures screws in (clockwise) makes it Leaner? I would think more air would get in if the screws were out? Hey this is mine 427 post :yesnod:

On the idle circuit only, yes. In leans the mixture but it's best to tune the optimal setting using a vacuum gauge. The screws have no affect once the engine goes off idle.
