C-5 Corvette Owners
This morning I was returning home from work and the driver of a red C-5 pulls up alongside me and was riding alongside me checking out my shark, he then pulled away as if to say "my vette is better than yours". It was raining pretty good this morning. What do you make of that?

Re: C-5 Corvette Owners (Oldguard 7)
Here we go again (another bash the C5ers post). ;)
Seriously, I think we all (me included) need to relax regarding what we would consider the "typical" C5 owner. I am betting that when the C3s first came out that there were some guys who bought them and didn't wave at the C2 or C1 crowd.
Let's just be honest... most C5ers don't wave at ANYONE... no matter WHAT model Vette they drive (including another C5). I see this all the time. The only guys in C5s who consistently wave at me (whether I'm in my C3 or C5) are the Z06 owners. Otherwise, forget it. I just keep waving no matter which Vette I'm in.
As far as this guy scoping out your car and then accelerating off... let's just give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He did ONE thing right. He _noticed_ your car. :) I mean, if we're honest, there are plenty of C5 guys who wouldn't know a C3 if it was sitting in their living room. So the fact he even recognized your car gives him some points. I have been in my C5 and tapped my horn at a couple of C3s as I passed by. One guy was driving much too slow on the highway for my taste, but he was in a '69 SB vert so I slowed down, gave him a thumbs up and then sped off (he was doing 60 and I typically do 75-80...I wasn't going to hang by him for very long and he gave me a half-**** acknowlegement anyway).
Lastly, maybe he does think his car is better. I guarantee you that 90% of the C3 owners on this board claim that they dislike the C5 car, even though it is a great piece of engineering. Most of the C3ers I see here think their car is better than the other Vettes made. So who is right?
Like I said, I give the guy props for even paying enough attention to recognize another Vette of a different vintage.

Re: C-5 Corvette Owners (WA 2 FST)
Most of the c5s wave at me in the area as long they are male drivers, or not fidgeting with their phone. What i find odd is, they are the ones that start the wave. I usually just rev at them, i dont like waving. I probably have more c5s acknowledge me then c3s.

I think you're making a big deal out of nothing...so he pulled away, so what...maybe he slowed down to check out your ride as he was driving to the Emergency Room.

I agree, I think the fact that he slowed down and gave your car a look is far above what most people do. Better than the lady I pulled up next to (C5) today at a stoplight, neither she nor her boy passenger gave me a glance.
I just don't understand how people can not be as obsessed with cars as I am, but my best friend can't understand why I'm not excited about the ideal quantity of nitrogen in a lawn :lolg: Just the way it is.

Sounds like the blonde who pulled her c5 right out in front of me in my c3 the other day. I waved, I just didn't use all my fingers. :nono:

Probably just another 'fast driver' in a C5. There's lots of 'em in the D/FW area here. :yesnod:
I think it's  that he has the interest to slow down & check out a vintage shark. ;) .........He could have just blew by you at 110mph if he was being arrogant about it.

He's probably wondering why you didn't keep up. ;)
I wave in and at any Corvette, C3 or otherwise. It seems like most Corvette drivers around here do.

Well you should have just said 'my milkshake is better that yours :p: ' to him.
And anyways, who cares, sharks are solely for enthusiasts, and most (not all) c5 owners use it as a status symbol.
