Saturday decided to let Susan take the wheel, 3rdh time. With me in the car it made her nervous and she miss-shifted four times. :banghead: but when she got over that it was quite a joy to see her having fun. "Wow this thing pulls a hell of alot more than my Sentra" I friggin hope so! She shifts at 2000RPM which leaves next gear at 1500RPM, lugging and too low for Cali so I said take it up to 3000 minumum before shifting, and don't worry you can't break her. Well she bangs thru the gears and chirps 1st, 2nd. Yeah Baby!!! Much more impressive when your in the car, that's my girl!!

Now if I can get power steering installed she'd be more inclined to drive her more.

That's great you let your wife drive it!!!

I INSISTED on my wife driving my car and learning how to put it in reverse in case there was a fire or an emergency ane she needed to drive it! She did well shifting- no miss shifts but did go from second to fifth instead of third. That is a tough shift for someone new to the Richmond...

I took out the differential and will be swapping out the 3.08's to 3.70's this week!

Reminds me of when my friend let my wife take his 73 out for a little ride.
She drives great, so there was no worry.
However, after she returned she said it was fun, but it was a pain pulling
up on the shifter lock every gear. :lol: :lol:

My wife had too much trouble with the clutch & kept stalling my '68. :eek: Maybe if it was automatic...... :skep:

I might actually be relaxed enough about the vette to let my wife drive it sometime..... I wonder what she would think if I told her I wanted her to be able to back it out of the garage in case the house is on fire! :lol: (There may in fact be other priorities)

I let one of my friends drive the vette and she had a blast. I've taken her for several rides in it but finally decided to let her drive it. She loves vettes and racing, too bad she's married. :lol:

My wife drives mine occasionally, but she also would prefer power steering. Funny, I haven't seemed to find time to do that yet! It actually came with it, but it sure is a bunch of junk to hang on there, and I'm trying to LOOSE weight, not pile it on!

I get nervous downshifting from 4th to 3rd sometimes, hoping I don't accidently throw it into 1st, especially when I was on the track last weekend. Don't even get me started on how bad I am at double clutching. :banghead:

Take my advice: If you install power steering, you'll be driving that Sentra a lot more often!!!

My wife refuses to learn to drive a standard shift. Heh, heh, consequently all my hobby cars MUST have standard shift :D !!!

It's good to hear that your wife is learning to appreciate your other love. Glad to hear you are enjoying life as a threesome!! ;)

i think your only looking at about 25 pounds with the pump full. Given my growing belly since making Chief I'll work on slimming that and getting the power steering.
