Does it get stuck on both sides or just one? Are the cables adjusted properly? Maybe they need to be tightened. If the cables are doing their job then the fault pobably lies with the strikers. To make sure that they are centered, cover the latch hole with some masking tape. Then apply a dab of grease to the striker tips and gently let them come together. Check to see where the striker is hitting. Also the striker height may be to short causing the latch to bind on the tip. Good Luck, Craig

its both sides...but i try not to put the strikers on both sides, because if i do, then both sides would get stuck.. i've adjusted the strikers to the highest, and still get stuck..i've tried the masking tape method...still stuck. if anything, i think the release isn't releasing enough. the cables are tight..but i don't know what to do about the release.

sounds like you dont have the strikers center to the hood mechanism
just repainted my hole engine compartment and had all the mechanism to the hood relase loose and painted it,i just centered it and it went fine.
they must be really in center ore else it gets stuck

Yup...gotta be centered :yesnod:
After my repaint, a buddy and I spent nearly 2 hours opening and closing that hood to get it right.
I went and scribed around the strikers and hinges to get a starting point for the next time the hood comes off. :chevy

I will start adjusting the strikers to get them centered...can i leave the springs to the highest position so that i can somewhat assure there won't be a stuck situation after i get the strikers centered?
