Default What causes a bent pushrod?

I just started my rebuilt engine with vortec heads. and only ran for about 2 minutes with a slight popping sound. Pulled valve cover off and noticed a bent pushrod.

Sounds like a valve hitting a piston to me, ask engine builder what the piston to valve clearance was on intake and exhaust valves :D

Yes that is quite true it actually could be a number of things including cam lift too much for springs ( coil bind) , not enough clearance between the retainer and valve guide and the things mentioned above. All these clearances should be checked when assembling the motor :D
