Default Idler Arm question

I'm trying to intall a new arm and it won't line up with the center link. The old arm stud is off center, aimed towards the front left, the new arm stud is straight down. Will the stud move off center or is it fixed with pin/roller bearings? I don't want to break the new arm.

If I understand your question, I had a similar reaction when I changed mine. The old arm moved at the joint much easier than the new. The new arm is a lot "stiffer" at the joint but it will move if you apply force. Don't worry if you can break it by hand, it has no business attached to the steering linkage.
