Will the Forum have a Tent at Carlisle in August?
I would like to meet some of you folks! The Wife and I will be coming south from Canada: about 425 miles. We typically vacation in the USA south in August. I may even try the Corvette this year. In previous years we have gone with the "daily" but I may give the C2 a good run this year.

It has been about 12 years since going to Corvettes at Carlisle for me. I would love to go again. I am considering it this year, but would not take a vette.
Sorta depends on getting reservations at Carlisle Barracks where I once worked. They only allow reservations two weeks in advance. So, it causes a little uncertainty.

August, if I go I'll bring the truck, more room for parts. Can you get good deals?

The catalogue vendors don't seem to deal but the independents certainly do. Especially on Sunday!

If not a tent maybe a few of us would like to chip in a few coins and actually rent a space. You know, kind of like a pit stop, hospitality area. Maybe a grill & cooler?

That reminds me. Does anyone know why you cannot buy a beer anywhere on the fairgrounds? I would expect that a beer tent would be a popular (and money-making) spot in that August heat.

I've only been going for the past eight years and have seen Budwiezer and Heinekin beer tents in the past.Recently I haven't but I think you can still carry in your own and if you're a responsible individual, there's no problem.(Don't get too drunk and disorderly.)
Last year I wanted to show my car for the first time, not that I wanted a trophy or anything, but more of a gathering of Forum Members point.I made a sign for the car with my signature picture and a blurb about the car figuring some of you would recognize it and we'd meet.I didn't know that to get on the grounds you had to register in advance for the whole weekend,so when I got there I had to park in the Vette parking area.I walked around looking for Corvette Forum cars and the only one I recognized was CanAm454.He was quite a nice guy and we talked for a while. He had no sign,no name tag,and to be honest if I didn't ask him if he was a Forum member would not have met him.We should make a Tee-shirt up or something to better show who we are, tent or no tent. That fair grounds is huge,so unless you plan on standing in the beer tent all weekend, chances are you'd never meet another member.
As for reservations I have and will offer my back yard if you're the camper type.I'm 40 minutes from the fair grounds and wouldn't mind at all.

I'll be going this year. Been two years since I was there. It would be nice to meet fellow forum members to associate a face with a screen name. Maybe drink a beer or twelve.... :seeya

Cars, beer and really tight places don't mix well.

Went last year and had a good time. I got a couple of great deals (battery disconnect for $5.00 and a front plate cover for my C4 for $15).
I'll most likely go this year as well....

We stop there on the waydown (it's in Downingtown, PA) AWESOME food and drink, then pick-up some frosties for the following days (Carlisle) activities! Life is too short to drink cheap beer!
