Default Paint Progress Pics

Well I went to see my vette today. The guys are doing a great job on the car. I was well pleased with what I saw today. It has been a lot of work and I am starting to see what it is going to look like when finished. The new DS front surround came in and they are getting it fit. The doors, deck lid, rear half, wiper door, headlight covers are all primed. Here are a few pics of the car I took today.

In one of the other rooms in the shop they have a 66 BB that is body off and black that they are working on. They have a really nice 60 model that is going to have its body taken off and put on a C4 chassis.

Nice projects going on there no doubt. I am going back up Monday or Tuesday and take another look at it.

That is very nice Eddie. I think you are gonna be well satisfied.

I visited the paint shop today as well. They are putting the final touches on it and I am picking it up tomorrow at noon.

The second time around they got it right; no fisheyes! Actually, it looks pretty darn good even if it did take four months. So, good luck with yours. :)

Starting to catch up with me!! :) I put the hood, gills, top, and will have to doors on by tomorow, all thats left off of it at this point is the doors, front bumbper, and the grills.

Hope all goes well with yours, and we can meet up at some point.

Make sure that you get to take a look at the fit of the deck lid and doors with them in place to assure that you are satisfied with the uniformity of the gaps before they start painting. This is the detail in Vette restoration that separates the men from the boys IMHO. You won't be able to do much adjustment once the car is painted. I've seen many Vettes with awesome paint jobs where the hood, door and deck lid fit is crap! If you're paying big bucks for a paint job, why not make sure these details are right?!

It looks like the shop is doing a great job so far on your car and the work on the other cars looks very nice too. You'll be pleased with the results.
