Default AC oil charge

Anyone know the recommended amount of oil to be put into the AC system when converted to R134? All the old oil has been flushed. I installed a new compressor and it came with 6 oz in it. I'm wondering if that is enough oil or if more needs to be added.

I far as I can remember most auto air systems use 1/2 pound. 6 oz is a good place to start.

The exact amount of oil depends on what year car. R4 or A6 cmpressor... I remember my 71 calling for a total of 10oz. The service manual lists the amount you need.
