What Is The Best Orange Engine Paint?
What brand do you think is the best? How did it cover? How did it hold up?

I see you also posted about POR15 - no experience with that.
I use DUPLI-COLOR Engine Enamel Chevrolet Orange #DE1620. Have used this on my Camaro (complete engine) and was still looking good after 3 years when I sold the car. I use it on the Corvette. Works great. BUT like all paints you need a good clean surface and then a good primer otherwise even the most expensive paint will not stay..... I usually bead blast, wipe down with a degreaser (or lacquer thinner), use an etching primer, and then paint.

Great to see someone asked this. I just had my original intake manifold blasted, and I've heard that the only way to keep the paint from chipping/peeling/burning at the heat riser is to powder coat it or use 1200 degree paint. Unfortunately, I don't want to spend the money to powder coat it, and I can only find up to 500 degree paint in chevy orange-- the 1200 degree stuff is in a different color orange (I'll probably use it anyway).

I used PPG SS Deltron Enamel. Looked super and did not burn or fade from heat. Little on the $$ side but is a good product.

I just had my intake powdercoated. Do it! It only costs $60 (came out great)and it will not peel off when gas hits it.

I myself like the PPG deltron range but if you want to go the spraycan route I suggest plast-kote. I have used VHT too but found their chevy orange a bit dull

Do you have the paint code for the PPG chevy orange? I looked but I think I have tossed the can I had mixed up (chevy orange isn't a color they do everyday here) and I forgot to write the paint code down

If you e-mail me, I'll send you the complete paper with the mixing formulas for the engine paint along with a bunch of other formulas and paint colors I've come up with over the years:

Can you guys get PPG products over there? I can probably get a cross reference over to Standox if that helps you...
