Default Glass vs acrylic tops

I'm thinking of picking up a set of glass tops. Anyone have any problems I should know about? How about the acrylic ones? I see you can get atotally reconditioned acrylic set on ebay for $700 (650 + 50 s&h).

One downside to glass tops, so they say, is that because they are worth so much they are more of a target for thieves... There are t-top locks available if it concerns you, $40 from Eckler's.

Are the acrylic tops lighter than the stock glass tops? Do they fit better?

I'd be interested in acrylic for weight savings, fit, and ease of TOSSING AROUND. :)

Would recommend glass tops. As another post suggested, Melrose T-tops
are a good source. Have purchased several sets from them and been
very satisfied.

Have previously read posts regarding the acrylic tops and many were negative.
