How do I go about removing the t-top cross bar that goes from the back to front of the car, dividing the tops? I've taken out all of the rivets that I can find. I've removed all of the interior trim parts and still nothing. Can anybody give me a hand. I'm replacing the entire rear clip. But the new one I've got has a bad cross bar (front's rusted out a bit). Where as my old one on the car now is in great condition.

If your talking about the steel piece it will have spot welds at the front (windshield frame) and back.

:iagree: Find the spot welds and just drill through them, when you reinstall use a blind rivet.

Just cut it and weld the new piece to the old piece. This is the easiest solution. if you are a good enough welder you can grind the area down and you will never see the welds.

I'll try and take a pic of mine tonight.

When I replaced the upper half of my WS frame, I cut the Ttop bar near the
back, and butt- welded the new piece onto it. Just take some good
measurements before cutting, so you get it back to the same size.

It's not how good a welder you are ... it's how good you grind the mess clean. :lol:
