Update: Off to get Front Frame Crossmember Repaired....PICS
Earlier I posted this pic of my front frame crossmember damage due to the lower A-arm separating from the frame....
Got this "Front Crossmember Lower Repair Panel" part (Corvette Central part 182063, $135), in the mail...
And off to the shop I go.... :nonod: I'll post pics of the completed project when done. So sad to see the 'vette on the tow truck, so really, really sad...
O.K. here's some updates (8 April):

Did they give you a time frame of how long it will take? I'd like to see progress pics.

A wise move. Safety first! I am sure everything will turn out well. And just in time for summer.

Sad to see the flatbed, but just as sad to see the pricetag on a few pounds of stamped steel.
You should instruct the shop to add the recomended gussets around the brackets.
Ouch. She's gonna be nice and healthy after a few of these :smash: :smash: and a few of these   .

the panel is rusting already :( I would have the shop coat the inside of the crossmember when they have it apart, leaving about an inch or so from where they weld it, then when done coat the inside with some wax or something. This would be a great time to clean the whole deal there.

Re: Off to get Front Frame Crossmember Repaired....PICS (Twin_Turbo)
I'll get an update in a day or two and post a couple photos.
I did give the shop a can of POR-15 paint and a spray bottle of Metal Ready, they agreed to paint everything for me before bolting the suspension back on. Also, since the springs have to come out, I'm replacing with new VBP 460# Grand Touring, as well as replacing a few poly bushings. Also, the entire panel will be 100% MIG welded around the seams, perhaps a few gussets added, and a VBP spreader bar is going in next. This frame is going to be fixed correctly!

Excellent! Be sure and grab those 2 little blocks that bolt on the front of the crossmember and secure the lower arm. They are sharp like razors on the edge and that is what cuts the upper part! Round off (just slightly) the inner edge and it stopps that cutting action.

That's looking really good. I'm glad to see the repair is going well and that it will be back together correct and stronger than before.
