Rain Coat Tops....
I am thinking about buying one of the rain coat tops that MAMW and Eckler's sells. I'm looking at it for the space savings that not carrying my tops with me will free up in my trunk. Has anyone had any luck with one of these? Is it worth the investment?

Not really an investment!
I had one quite a few years ago on a 77. It was sorta nice and bet they might be even better now. I may even consider one for my 72 later. :)

I bought a pair about 8 or so years ago and they leaked like a sieve, I got rid of them promptly. I dont know if they have improved them or not but anyhow that was my experience for what its worth.

I'm looking at them before the CI...the tops are naturally the preferred top, but with luggage in the back, and no top rack, the space concerns are the prime issue

I bought a set about 12 yrs ago and I'm still using them. I think they actually seal pretty well for what they are. I need to replace the velcro (part that afixes to car) on mine. I don't like carrying my glass tops around in the summer so these are a good substitute.

Last year I bought a set.....Most worthless piece of Corvette **** I ever bought.
If you buy it you will know what I'm talking about.
I used them to cut weight down during my quest to 11's.....since the glass weigh a lot. :banghead:

I have a set and they do leak a bit but provide much better protection than no top at all. They do blow off at 140+. Handy if you get caught in the rain. Mu $0.02

They are a good idea in theory. I myself would not want velcro stuck to my chrome. I'd really like to score a set of the pld AmTops.

The link to Eckler's is the specs and the M/A is a pic of it. This is what I am referring to...
