What is that groaning noise....
...coming from the differential? The chatter that I would hear when making a sharp, slow turn went away after I changed out the fluid and added the GM limited slip. Yesterday when backing up the driveway, there was a constant, for lack of better term, groaning sound. I should note that the drive way is on a slope. I turned the car around and drove in and no noise. Do I need to flush the differential again or are there more problems then just that.

Re: What is that groaning noise.... (1978shark)
I chased a similar sound in my 1978 a while ago, and it turned out to be a rear wheel bearing starting to go.

I had a similar noise years ago after having my differental rebuilt, turned out the guy that rebuilt it never torqued down that big nut directly behind the propeller shaft. Check it out.
