Default OMG!! Not using your vac advance!!

Went to Vons for some groceries. Vac advance has been disconnected awaiting SUMMIT order for adjustible vac canister. Max mechanical is 39 degrees at 3100RPM. A whole new car. Now when the canister arrives it's going in but WOW!! What a difference not having 62 degrees at 3500 RPM!!
No stutter at idle thru 300RPM. Pulls strong all gears. Glad I did not damage the engine with all that advance.

Wow, that is a lot of advance, but at no-load rpm's (high vacuum) I'm sure you didn't harm anything at all. My 406 seems to be the most happy with 32 degrees initial advance with no mechanical advance.

I have yet to do any really "hot" weather starting, but so far so good, except for dist. gear.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out, happy :auto:

I never hook up the vacuum advance, it seems to give the motor more low end grunt with it disconnected. :D

The adj vac adv kits allow you to both limit the total amount of vac adv and to also adj how quickly it adds/subtracts it.
