Default LS1 Conversion Update - Pics inside.

Well let's just say things are finally going in the right direction. Doug (DVG73) and Adam came over Saturday night to help get the tranny back in. All went as planned and after three slave cylinders, two master cylinders, and two clutches; YES the pedal finally works. I guess Centerforces idea of a working clutch is different than ours. We also fab'ed up the fuel lines and got pretty high from the fumes.

Here's a pic of the air intake.

Overview of the Motor.

Looking good Buddy. You might be ready to fire that bad boy up pretty soon.

I got my clutch installed this week and finally got the motor and tranny into their final resting places and all bolted in today.
Here's my bolt-in T56 mount:

Another shot with the tranny bolted in.

And my modified engine mount adapter plates.

I have a 4 day weekend for Easter, the wife's working all weekend, and there won't be any family around, so I should get some good stuff done in the next 10 days or so.

Has your wiring harness arrived yet?

You guys are doing some nice work with the LS1 engines. Both look great. Those should make for some fine cruising when the time comes. Keep up the good work.

Scooter - No harness yet, I'm going to wait until wednesday before I start calling. The trans crossmember turned out just like you decribed.

Jughead-The motor is out of a 2001 F-body

Pat - Hope the dog is doing well.

Looks really good, Buddy.

Scooter, my alternator went out so that gives me an excuse to pull that bracket and make a template. Let me know if you are still interested.

Jeff,
Yeah, the alternator bracket is still on my list of things to do. Whenever you get around to making something up, I'd appreciate it.

What are you guys doing for the 130 amp alt.? Are you running a new wire straight to the starter post?

130? I am pretty sure mine is a 102 amp. I re-lugged the stock wire for now. When I redo the interior (whenever that will be) I plan on redoing all the dash, lights, and engine bay wiring with an 18 circuit Painless Wiring fuse panel. I will still use the 99 camaro engine harness because I lke how it is currently setup.

On a side note, after a few miles of driving, my ammeter stuck due to excessive current. Going to have to replace it with a voltmeter again whenever I redo the interior.

70LS1 - Where does this bracket place the alternator? I'm looking to put alt and P/S pump high with no other accessories.

Thanks,

Ryan

The alternator is high on the driver's side. Here are a couple of pics.

I like the looks of the alternator high on the driver's side. That's where it belongs.

Thanks,
