Anyone going to hooters tomorrow for the vette show? I will IF I can get my car running. I just got my distributer back from Lars and will be attempting to fix my broken electric windows! ;)

I'll be there. The info from the Southwest section of the forum has a post on the details. It said setup is from 8-10am and registration closes at 12 noon. Judging will be at 3pm. I'll probably try to make it there by around 10am. I'm trying to convince my buddy to bring his '72 big block. The exterior looks great but the engine compartment is pretty dirty. I told him to just show it with the hood closed.

I hope to see you there. I've got the green '69 that everyone's trying to convince me is really black :crazy:

I had stuff to do and never got there until ~ 3:30. It was pretty dead then. Only a few C-4/5's and they bore me. My car would have looked good as its Ont. Orange, aka Hooters Orange. Its a '71 LS-5. I had to put my "new" Lar's Distributor in, also I messed about trying to get my clock to work to no avail. The long and short is I missed the show. :confused: But the car runs better than it ever has ... :cheers:

What the show any good? Any good chicks or what?

I wasn't too impressed with the show. Tons of c5's and quite a few c4's. Only a handful of c3's and like 5 or 6 c1 and c2's. The hooters girls weren't that great either.

Hmm.. shame about the cars and the girls. I have noticed that about the lack of C3's weird. I have been to a few events that have been almost over represented with C1's .. ? They don't do much for me, but I like them.

Are you a member of any local corvette group? Is there a place where they gather... maybe on a friday, drink beer and shot the bull?

I know you did not ask me but I live right down the street off of little york between barker cypress and fry.

Oh, and ditto on the car show. Met a few nice people but a there were quite a few bone stock C5s like you can go and buy off the car lot. Nothing against C5s or the owners but what is the point of putting it in a car show?

I live at Fry and Kingsland, just done the street. I have a pretty much stock 1971 LS-5 and a bike. I am presently offshore. I will be back in town later in the month. My buddies and me sometimes hit Hooters there on 290. What do you drive? Are you good at wrenchin'?

We should meet up some time. I have a not quite stock '79. As far a wrenchin' goes I think I have touched nearly every part on my car at one time or another. We have an informal group in houston that gets together for projects and such. I will send you a url for that forum when I get home.

I think we are actually all pretty close...surprised I haven't seen you guys out on the streets. I'm near West and Jones Rd. I also have a friend up 290 that has a 72 BB. Let me know if you guys ever want to meet up somewhere. This weekend I'm going to the Beauty & the Beast car show and dyno at MTI (Westheimer and Dairy Ashford). Give me a shout if you want to go and cruise down there together.

Hey guys, i'm out west w/ ya'll. It was a much smaller turnout at the show than in the fall. Probably down due to the previous rainout. I'm tired of the silver green '82 winning every show for them. It would be great to get together somewhere this spring. I'm out cruzin' every weekend unless it's raining.
