Well, you might want to hold off a little longer and save up a few more dollars. I've heard a rumor Hooker is going to be offering its C3 header/sidepipe kits in stainless steel pretty soon.

Stainless is hard to bend and time consuming to polish... Figure they probably had to buy better equipment to bend them and they'll take more time to polish plus the material cost is higher.

Stainless would be cool. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new set of headers in the next month.
What do you guys think of the various types? I didn't know Hooker had chrome ones. Are they pretty good? My Harley has chrome pipes, but without covers, they turn blue at the heads. Would stainless be better than ceramic coated? Choices, choices...
Another fly in the ointment is that I need to have an O2 sensor bung welded in for my EFI setup.

Summit list $980 for header and $411 for side tube (USD).
Seems hard to believe.

I don't want to seem coy but I won't say. BTW, stainless pipes for SBCs are a done deal and should be available soon. The stainless side exit headers for SBCs will be P/N 2224-3 HKR. I don't have a number yet for the tubes. I don't know about big blocks, either, but it would seem like a logical extension to the line.
