I was considering tinting my windows, but was wondering if scratches can be removed, minimized on driver and passenger windows?

Will this make a difference? Will the tint mask or bring out the scratches?

I'd appreciate some pics, and let me know the percentage used.

If the scratches aren't deep you won't notice them but there are products for polishing glass that should take out minor scuffs. Here are my windows. They are 5% all around.

CHeck with the DMV in your state....didfferent states have different rules for the % amont.
NC can only go to 35%.

I really like that, I have mine tinted like that too. I never liked it that people behind you could see through the rear glass...now one can dig in their nose without being seen :)

Texas is 35% side, 20% rear window. I guess I'll have to report Burners! :lol:

I take it the % refers to what is let through, and not what is blocked?? burners, at 5% is it noticeably diffifult to see out at all??

Correct, I had mine with 5% on the back. It's illegal in SK to tint your side windows, got a ticket for it too. Anyways I accidentally ripped the tint on the back off and its being redone in 20%.

its really old tint though. there are kits/products that can get rid of surface scratches, as long as your fingernail cant catch it

After I get my body repair project done (after I get enough $$$ to get it startee) my windows will be black.

Chris, it isn't noticeably difficult to see out. The rear window is so large that it still lets a lot of light in. Overall it's no different than wearing a pair of dark sunglasses. The only time it is a issue is at night when I am backing up or something like that but I just roll the window down and it isn't a problem. Oh yea, I don't have to switch my rear view mirror to "night" when someone is shining their headlights into it. That actually helps me to identify what kind of car is behind me via the shape of the headlights and I don't have to squint or kill my night vision to do it. All my cars have had 5% on them for years so I'm used to it and in the southwest you really need it that dark. It cuts down on the heat and it's easier on interior components.
