Default Vette Brakes Core Exchange

No slam intended here. Bought over 3K from VDB and will continue to. Sent front both calipers back for core charge, next year snail mailn yet still spent $43.56. Got letters today in the mail. "Not accepted due to calipers resleeved" by P.O. Not his or my fault, still cannot tell the difference.
POINT OF THIS POST.

Verify your parts before shipment.

That's why I bought NEW stainless steel o'ring calipers. The hassle to mail them back and hope they accept them as cores isn't worth it ;) :seeya

Hi

Why did you replace the calipers if they where already sleeved ?
Just a normal O-ring kit would possibly have done the job.
The stainless sleeves should be OK for a mega long time.

In reality, I can't see why they don't accept the cores. In the worst case, just replacing the stainless sleeves with new once should do. :)

May be you ask them to sent them back to you with your next order. They should always be good enough for E-bay. :jester

To be honest with you I'm not hip to the whole "if your core is acceptable then we will give you the credit" routine. Some vendors even post a whole menu of sub components that need to correct before they will give any refund. If the parts were good there would be no need to replace them duh!!

I feel sometimes it's a marketing gimmick for low advertised prices so that they can nickle and dime you up to the real price they want to sell for :U

Just enclose a prepaid UPS pick up slip and most people would gladly send there cores in.

Just my $.02 worth.

Did they or are they planning to send them back to you? I'm not trieing to... :beatdeadhorse: But, you may want to hold on to a few "no good parts" Spare parts like calipers or half shafts come in handy for road trips. Also, if there not broken in half, they're rebuildable.

LOL, i wonder if they reuse some of the good condition sleeved cores as their own rebuilts... The ones they claim are no good as a core.

I really don't think they would take a risk like that. It's probably their standard of what's rebuildable and what's not. VB&P has been around a long time and I don't think they would take chances like that. When I was saying that they are rebuildable, I meant to my specs
