Headlight Warning Light
I have a 75 coupe. Recently the headlight warning light comes on when I turn the lights on. The warning light is on the right side of the center console next to the gauges. The lights are working fine and all lamps light, both low and hi beams. Turn signals, rear lights, side markers etc. are all working. Headlights are popping up properly. My shop manual barely mentions this warning light and provides no info as to what might be wrong. Any suggestions as to cause will be greatly appreciated.

This is the switch that causes the light to go off. There is one switch on both headlights.
This is what the switch should look like when the lights are fully up. These switches turn the lights off. Hope this helps.

Re: Headlight Warning Light (Eddie 70)
EXCELLENT PICTURES! I found the swithes in no time. The passenger side is cracked. At a minimum I need a new switch, not bad for 30 years. Now that I'm looking at it, I may also have to adjust the headlight door a bit. When in the up position, it looks slightly higher than the drivers side. The striker bar maybe pushing on the switch too hard.
Anyways thanks for the help!

I light should come on until the lights are completely up.
If it stays on, either the light is not completely up or the switch is broken. These switches often break, they are about 25-30 each.
Quick solve if the switch is broken, just unplug it and the light will go out.
Hope this helps.
