Finally got that L-88 hood painted. Pic too.
I picked up the re-chromed bumpers during the week and bolted them on yesterday. The hood I had painted a few weeks ago but never had a chance to bolt her on. Complete with functioning air chamber of course.
I now switched over to the complete L-88 air cleaner and air cleaner base too. These pictures are a little older. I've had the hood for about 2 years now. :D

It looks great!
And now for the questions:
Was it hard to match the silver? Who painted it? for how much?
I am going to get my Baldwin Motion style hood painted this summer! :D

Thanks guys. I haven't been on line much so I thought I'd post some pics. The color is Cortez Silver which is the base color of the car (986) I instructed the painter to order CS and see how closely it would match to what I have now. Considering that the paint on the car is about 30 years old, he said it was a decent match. I'm not to concerned about matching exactly, I just wanted the hood painted. I still need to add the remainer of the stripe down the hood.
It's a close match but could have been better. The original Cortez silver on the car has a more metallic sheen to it than the newer hood paint. The difference is most notable in glaring sun. My '70 isn't a show piece and we use it primarily for car cruises and weekend fun. In the shade or on a less sunny day you can't tell the difference.
Cost? $225 including the paint. I wished the rest of the car looked as good as the hood.

That looks amazing! Extremely nice looking vette! It was great without the L88 hood, but now it's even better!
