Default Q jet Nightmare!!!

Ok well my carb was dumping fuel like no tommorow so I got it rebuilt. What is the most effective way to adjust this carb there is two adjusment screws at the front of it one for fuel and one for air I guess but it idles a little high and runs rich. and the idle screw is backed off. Any help or ideas.

Thanks Guys

Those screws at the front adjust the idle mixture. Adjustment is the same for both sides. Turn it in (clockwise) until you feel the engine start to get ragged, then turn it back out one half to one full turn.

OK but the only thing is that I dont know if the screws are equal so do I turn them both in all the way then turn them out about 6-7 complete turns equally then do as you suggested? And when you mean running ragged what exactlly do you mean. Like almost stalling? and will this bring the idle down.

Thanks Again

A good starting point for the adjusting screws would be to first bottom the screws (not too tight or you will deform the tip of the needle that seats in a taper) then back each screw out approx. 1.5 times, then adjust mixture as mentioned before.
