5 speed console emblem
Now that the Tremec is installed and working great I'd like to get a 5 speed console emblem where the 4 speed emblem is. I have seen a Camaro 84-93 has a plastic raised emblem that might work. Has anybody else seen a 5 speed emblem or plate tha twould work. I know some modification will probably be needed but any help and what it came from would help me out. :steering:

Here is what I did, I drew it up on the computer then printed it sized it and cut to fit in the console. Took that sheet of paper to a trophy shop had them laser cut it onto the plaque material that would be for ya know !st p[lace winner etc. Then Is used some adhesive and placed it over the hole. Now my is slighty different because my shifter comes out where your 4 speed logo is.
Check my link I think there are some pics there if not I can send you some. oh ya have them make you more than one so you have spares, cost me like 20 bucks to have done.

Mike Forte told me that he was working on one for the C-3's when I bought my Tremec from him back in Feb 02. I have no idea if he has any for sale but you could try him. http://www.fortesparts.com
I still have the 4 speed one in mine. The way I figure it, it is harder for anyway to take it for a ride when they don't know how to back it out of the driveway. Plus, I never look at it anyway when driving.

Very clever!
I am going to look into that. But I'm just curious as to why you put the shifter on the right side?

I like the idea of a trophy shop. Never thought of that. I'll have to see what is available around here. It does look funny on the other side of the console.

I believe Keisler has them for $10.00.

I talked to Keislers at Corvette Expo Friday and he told me that they just came in and they were $10.

I didn't take any pics but I am going to hit them up Monday or Tuesday and go get me one. I will post a pic when I get it.

Re: 5 speed console emblem (Gordonm)
I put mine thru the other side because at the time no one was making a bracket to angle the shifter to the other side.I had to fab up everything myself and I didn't want any problems with poor shifting because of a weak bracket. Most people don't even know that the shifter is on the wrong side.

I did the same thing but it suits my Right Hand Drive Vette!
I did mine by making the plate to fill the hole and then brazing welding wire and washers onto the plate. Etch the numbers onto the washers, file the tops of the wire flat, paint and Voila!

Never driven a Vette on the right side but I did drive a Ford product over in England on the right. You get used to it after a while but the mirrors is what screwed me up. It was different but I was glad to get back to the States. Shifting with the left hand was different but you pick it up quickly.

We find it weird to drive on the Left Hand Side!
I have been to the states 4 time now and done about 30,000 miles including the 50th aniversary Corvette Caravan from LA to Bowling Green.
The first thing your mind tries to do is place your body in the lane where it ought to be for right hand drive. You end up with the passenger side wheels in the dirt. It takes a couple of days but you adjust. Getting used to a manual gear change with the right hand takes concentration initially but again, the brain gets used to it.
Yeah, and the mirrors are in the wrong place. you want to look out the top of the side window for the centre mirror.

On topic: Does Keissler have a plate for a 6 speed (T56) too?
