Fan clutch won't disengage
my fan turns at the same rpm that my engine is turning at, even when the engine is cold, what could be the problem. I think that it make be a bad fan clutch but my dad said he replaced the fan clutch when he rebuilt the motor.

Re: Fan clutch won't disengage (battsup)
at ALL temps? Mine stays engaged for about a minute or two when I first start driving. As is gets up to operating temps, it loosens up unless it starts to get higher than 180, then it re-engages. Can you turn it at all by hand with the engine off? If not, it's gotta be locked up.

Mine is original fan clutch and it does this same thing most of the time. It drives me nuts since the fan is so freakin noisy with the clutch in the locked position.
Usually in spring and fall it works correctly, but in summer and winter it is always locked.
The wierd thing is that I can always turn the fan with the engine off.
