Just Came In From Expo
There was a lot of cars there today. Not just corvettes but everything imaginable. Couple of SSR trucks. Several Vipers. Couple of custom corvettes that were out there. Baldwin Motion look alike 69 coupe. 63 split window that looked like a hotwheel. 64 fuelie top flight NCRS. Studebakers, Avanti, etc... Great day for car looking. I got sunburned. Nicest weather for spring Corvette Expo in years.
Oh yeah, I only bought ~$1000 worth of parts but I walked about 10 miles.

I got a few. Let me do some uploading. I bought lots of new chrome pieces because of some of your posts awhile back, Dave.

Here are some of the pics I took of corvette expo in Knoxville today.
In this one my wife has found a car she would like to have. A Very nice 79.

This car had suicide doors also. I don't know what you call that tranny but it has 5 levers. We were standing there looking at it and the man asked my wife if she wanted to set in it. He popped the door and she popped right in. Like a kid in a candy store. The man that owns this one also has a 57 chevy that is built along the same lines. (hotwheels style)

I went Sunday and it was DEAD! I've been twice before for the Fall shows, maybe Spring is the smaller show, or maybe everyone left Saturday night. At least half the number of vendors as their usually are. The huge Jacob building was closed for repair so they had all the show cars, what few show cars their were, impossibly crammed into a tented area.
Vendors were overpriced as usual - $30 front vette mats were selling for $40.
...still, it was a nice day to be out. That yellow vette on show was amazing.

I use to go. I got relatives near by, but couldn’t make it this year. What vendors were there? Zip, CC, MAD, Ecklers, Doc Rebuild, LICS

Re: Just Came In From Expo (dennis-trapp)
Dude I didn't see any large vendors there on Sunday except Volunteer Vette's. Kiesler was their as always with their 6-speed booth. Ecklers and Zip were absent.
I'm starting to recognize everyone - the guy with the corvette car-cover booth is there near the entrance as he is every year, all the rusty-old-used-parts vendors where in the back row as they usually are. I was kind of disorientated with the Jacob building closed.
The only new interesting booth they had (at least I don't remember it from last time) was a large area with a selection of vette seats, some used some new, and they were re-attaching the upholstery to the foam on site.

Re: Just Came In From Expo (Bullyj)
Okay, I have just found out that this was an original Baldwin Motion car. I took several pictures of it but thought it was just another custom. WOW!!! It went through the auction but only got to $47,000 and that was a no sale.
I saw the hood emblems but it never occured to me as it being real. I wish now I would have looked a little closer. Check out pictures 10 through 14 for the rest of the ones I took. Duh. :conehead :banghead:
