Default Top 10 things to know when buying an older vette.

Below is a listing of the "true" meaning behind popular phrases used in advertising a used Corvette.

1. "Original mileage" - the odometer has rolled over several times.
2. "Numbers match" - the decal on the air cleaner has the same number as the hood.
3. "Needs TLC" - needs a full body off restoration.
4. "very, very fast" - I beat a ricer when it was running.
5. "glass is good" - needs a paint job and everything else needs to be replaced.
6. "needs carpet" - car leaks & has been sitting outside for years.
7. "1 owner car" - No car history, I haven't transferred the title, and picked it up at an auction.
8. "good daily driver" - The headlights don't work and probably has a bad alternator.
9. "not a show car" - The owner doesn't clean his car.
10. "never raced" - It would never pass tech and would fall apart if you drove it hard.

Corvettes don't RUST! they're made out of fiberglass (Ha! Ha!) Beware the unknowledgeable fool and his money! (they are soon parted!) Even in sunny California.

 there is a guy near my house who had a fox body, a 79(0r 78) and a 76 or 77 in his driveway. The 79 or 78 had the rear window out and was used for storage
last time i went by the 79 was gone, the 76-77 was there and a bit better looking, and a 63 hardtop was in the drive way begging for a wash
im scared for the 63
