Hey, what's with this "Head Lamp" light?
There is a Head Lamp indicator (warning?) light immediately to the right of the water temp gauge in my '69, and it remains continuously lighted whenever I turn on the headlights. It's a bright red, square light and it's rather obnoxious. Is this supposed to stay on like that, or is there something wrong with it? How can I turn this thing off or disable it? Please advise. Thanks.

my head lamp light goes out when the lights lock in the up position....
Hand a vac leak once where one side would not come up and then the warning light stayed on.

There are 2 switches that are on the headlight mechanisms that are to warn you that your lights are not fully up. If the switches are broken or out of adjustment, this light on your dash will stay on. New switches can be bought. I just replaced both of mine not too long ago to fix this same problem.
Here is a pic of one of the switches. BTW, it looks like the headlight was in the up position in this pic. Hope this helps.

Re: Hey, what's with this "Head Lamp" light? (Eddie 70)
On my car, one of the switches doesn't make contact with the switch plate when the headlamp is fully up. I've disconnected that switch's wire so I'm not blinded in the cockpit by the bright warning lamp. I can't seem to find anyway to adjust the space between the switch and the plate it presses against to close the gap so the switch operates properly. Any ideas on how to adjust this?
