hopefully that works
anyways. I got them coated at a local spot that my mechanic recomended instead of jet hot. Saved a ton of money and am very happy with the results. tell me what you think. next on the list is paint. thinking about a switch to the 350Z gold or a deep orange

Cool sidepipes. What I was wondering, was it you cutting doughnuts in the vette?
Your sever does not allow remote linking apparently. I tried to post the third photo.

ha ha. no actually that was my buddy in the iroc who was responsible for the donuts. I caught some serious $%^# from the ex-army ranger next door after that one. Snow + rear wheel drive = too much fun to resist

Re: sidepipes just got ceramic coated (78 Vette)
the actual coating was around 450 I believe. but the old pipes had rusted and gotten so tightly locked to the headers that I had to get new pipes and baffles...so they sound better now too! anyway. the place is called RaceCraft in fredricksburg VA. The owner was a good guy and gave me that price before I told him what JetHot was gonna charge (something over 500). They did the job in 3 days. I recomend the place to anyone considering ceramic coating.

Re: sidepipes just got ceramic coated (1bad69)
it's not chrome. don't get it hoping for a mirror like finish. It looks like an polished aluminum, maybe a little more shiny. I like it a lot, especially considering how much longer the finish will last and the ceramic's temp advantages. You can call jethot and get a free video and brochure about it. I did this when I was shopping around. Also, don't let JetHot fool you. They supposedly put some silver into their finish but I promise it makes little to no difference in the outcome. I have seen JetHot coated headers and mine look just as good. Another thing to take into consideration is shipping. JetHot is in pennsylvania but they send your pipes to mississippi or somethin. it's just a lot simpler to get it done locally if possible.

Re: sidepipes just got ceramic coated (HUGEsidepipes70)
there is a guy that does them up here....http://www.fireballcoatings.com/
but i dont want the chrome on the bumpers and the rims to clash with sidepipes that look smooth and satiny....i was considering getting them done in black with a gloss over the black....just not too sure how it would look...

1bad69 - You could always leave the sidetubes chrome and just coat the header/collector portion like I did. Coated in gloss black would look

Re: sidepipes just got ceramic coated (Marks69BB)
mark...i think the contrast between the header and the pipe would be too much for me....if i were to do it that way, i would probably do both...but the gloss black thing is really stuck in my head....

Here's Jet-Hot's Sterling finish against a polished aluminum rocker for comparison...
(1bad69, gloss black pipes on black chrome bumper car like yours would look great)

lotahp has black sidepipes. They go good with his black 5 spoke (TT d's). I thin that setup would look nice on my car since all the molding trim is black.

Re: sidepipes just got ceramic coated (isosceles)
I don't think the silvery ceramic finish clashes with the chrome bumpers and rims at all. That is one of the things I was worried about before getting them done though. They turned out better than I had expected.
