Cannot get into gear

Cannot get into gear
Heres the baseline:
Rebuilt motor
New CentreForce Clutch & all linkages/TO bearing etc
Rebuilt Muncie M20
New Hurst Comp Shifter with repro vette handle
Before we put the engine/clutch/gearbox in the car it shifted into gear real nice. Now in the car we cannot consistently get it into reverse or out if it is in.
Is this a clutch or a linkage problem?
I added extra washers to the hurst linkages like HOTROD magazine talked about. Could this cause bind?
Any help appreciated. (out of town till friday so thanks in advance)
