Re: Spare tire (Cali,68,L-79)
Well got everything in a 1-stop shopping from VettSteve. The rim is 68 correct the tire while not bias ply correct is a good F-70/15 radial so this should do it however I cannot get the tire carrier botl to unscrew it's frozen.
So hopwfully some lubricant may help.

Spare tire
When I bought Cali-2 she didn't have a spare becuase the previous owner removedso he could install his bling bling neon tubes. I need the entire shooting match, spare tire, bolt for spare tire carier, wing nut, jack, lug wrench and strap that holds jack, lug wrench. Local used parts guy has all including original f70/15 tire but if he doens't have the strap and bolt/ wing nut I'll order from paragon or Ecklers. Did 68 have the locking spare nut like my 77 did? i rather have that then a simple wing nut. Unfortunetly when John bought my 77 I had just switched out all new locks on the 77 and threw away the old keys. When he got the 77 to Ausralia he had to have a welder cut off the lock. :banghead: I don't want to repeat that mistake.

What a blunder head I am!! The spare is 27.5" tall and with the lowered suspension the car is;
Front - 26.5"
Rear - 27.5"
As measure at the fenderwell lip. :rolleyes:

How wide is the tire? It should slope out before it contacts the fenderwell.
My carrier bolt is stuck on my carrier too. I wonder if soaking it overnight in penetrating oil would help any...

Re: Spare tire (BlueL36)
The long stud broke of inside the oblong nut!! I drilled it out and tapped out the threads but it's kind of loose. but I wire wheeled it and cleaned it up anyway. What keeps the stud from unscrewing with vibration over time?
