Does Anyone Here Have 235 70 15's On Their Car?
Hi Everyone,
I was fortunate enough to have a friend give me a pair of new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires that are 235 70 15 in size. I'd like to buy another pair and put the set on my car. I was wondering if there would be any rubbing or clearance problems on the C3. Thanks a lot.

You shouldn't have any problems with those, a lot of us are even running 255/60/15's with no problems.

When I bought my car it had bad rubber.
Knowing that 225/70r15 was the original size, I put them on the car (same Indy 500 tire in fact) but they were too soft in the sidewall being a tall tire. Cornering was poor. After the first Vette mountain run from others in this forum, I changed to 255/60's but stuck with the same Indy 500 tire.
Still and S rated tire, but the shorter aspect ratio and wider tread helped handleing a lot.
So yes they will fit. But is it the right tire? no.

Right...I have 225 70 15's now and it looks like there is room for a larger tire. I'll go ahead and just give it a try. I think it will make the car look good and handle better. Thanks for the replies.

I have a set of 235s on my 80. According to the door jamb sticker, that is what she came with originally. They're awesome!! BF Goodrich T/As are the way to go!!
