First drive of the year today !!! Finally
Weather was mid to high 50s today. I had to take her out for a spin.
Last year when I put her away, I had a squeek squeek noise from either a U-joint or bearing coming from what sounded like the passenger rear. I gambled that it would be the U-joints. I have so far replaced all four halfshaft U-joints.
The vette was up on jackstands still, but I decided I could get her ready in about 20 minutes.
On went the rear tires and retorqued all four, brought the freshly charged battery out of her winter storage and installed it. Vroom she fired right up after a few turns. I let it idle for about 5 minutes until fast idle went away.
I took her out on a fresh smooth highway to listen for any noises. Luckily now she's absolutely smooth. The Brute Force halfshaft U-joints did the fix, it appears.
Went for about 20 miles and got her back safely. Streets were all pretty dry and I didnt see any salt dust.
Happy to say Im back in the saddle and I think I dodged a serious bullet with rear end fix!!!

I know how exciting you must feel. Always nice to get back in the game after a long time out. We to had a cold spell between Jan 5th - 7th (below 65 degrees) and I couldn't comfortably drive with the top down.

Oh no Sir. As soon as I became a Navy counselor I became instructed in the art of politics and those SOB's in Millington TN just love the poopie out of me. Dad didn't raise any fools.
