Default FS - What's fishy here?

I don't get this. One day auction, way underpriced, and all his other stuff is too. Any ideas?

There is another one for a 67 that is about the same fishiness, prolly fraud trying to get people to give up personal/financial info by requiring pre-approval.

That seller's account has been "hijacked". Someone else is listing items under his username, trying to obtain financial info or a "deposit".

These scams will continue until E-Bay figures out a way to outsmart 16 yr. old kids and European hackers.

May be Pedro Portugal again. But if legit that is a pretty fine price. To be pre-approved you may have to give out your VISA number, etc, etc. EBay has been watching these ones closely.

eBay seems to be really infested with this type of scam lately... Check this one out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6147

Check out what the seller usually sells...

The one or three day auction is very typical---they want to find a sucker before eBay finds them... Email the "seller" and he'll say he's somewhere in Romania, and ask you to send a deposit via Western Union or something like that....

I've reported this one and a few others to eBay. Never got a human response, but they do seem to investigate and remove the fraudulent auctions.

I've noticed also with these "SCAMS", in the "location"(of the item)portion of the item it'll say "Buy it now", or some other stupid saying like "Good luck" instead of revealing some true "location".

I got hosed a few months ago for 120 tablets of viagra for a mere $1432.

Never even heard of the company. Don't even take the drug, (but I'd like to try it, LOL) But, long story short, don't know how this spam company got my email address, but even more importantly, how did they get my credit card number? But they did!!!!!!!!!!

Took 6 months to reconcile, what a mess, but all worked out in the end. Chase Bank stood tall on this issue!

But the point here is, beware, it can happen!

Be careful!

I sent a note to eBay. I wonder how long it will take them to remove the auction.

Prior to this incident, do you recall receiving any e-mails from PayPal/EBay/Your Bank/Cable Company, etc. asking you to "update" or "reconcile" your account information?

There are some pretty convincing (fraudulent) e-mails being sent that ask for your CC/ID info "or else your account will be closed", as well as bank account numbers, PIN numbers, etc.

PayPal says their website will always have "https" in the beginning of the URL ("s" is for secure) and insist that fraudulent websites will not. I received a spoof E-mail from "PayPal" yesterday and when I clicked on it to investigate further, the URL started with "https".

You have to be careful with eBay and PayPal. A couple of months ago I got a phone call from Chase Bank. I was asked if I just charged $491 on-line with my Visa card. I didn't. Chase closed out the card and sent me a new one. This card was only used to purchase eBay items with PayPal so I figured the breech had something to do with PayPal. I called PayPal security and spoke to someone who either didn't care or just didn't understand how it was their problem. I just hung up and went into PayPal and change my account to a limited ($500) credit card and ended their ability to get funds from my checking account. I was disappointed in her lack of effort to understand this breech of security in PayPal.
