Default California Car Duster

Has it ever scratched your car? :skep:

Nope, not if you keep it clean of debris. I have been using mine for about 9 years with no apparent problems.

Nope. Its good for getting dust off between car washings. I use mine a lot. Only thing, it seems to leave a film on the car after I use it 3-4 times between car washings. I think they're wax-impregnated so it must be the wax showing up on the car.

As of yet it has not scratched but having a black car it seems to leave what looks like grease spots or streaks on the paint

They work great ... but use wax in the fibers to help create static charge and
remove dust.

Someone who lives in ... say Jacksonville FL ... might be careful.
You don't want to use it on a hot car, as the wax will melt from the duster
and onto your paint. No big deal ... just defeats the purpose of cleaning.

You better get two ... I see lots of dusting in the near future. :p:

Mine works very well, but in LA the dust that settles on the car from freeway driving is very greasy, so the duster is really dirty. But it still gets the car looking pretty good without washing it.

I take the duster on long road trips so I can keep it looking good. Especially when I took the Vette to Laguna Seca. By the end of the day my car went from red to brown. I was able dust it off back at the hotel and it looked quite good :)

No, it works great. Just don't use it when your car is hot, the parafin wax from the duster will streak!

I'm not crazy about using it....I some times see wax streaks even on a cool surface. I prefer to use detail spray with a fiber cloth.

Btw Mark that's a neat sig pic of your car. :chevy

IMO, works great, but if it seems to streak at all, you are not "dusting" it lightly enough, or just need to give it a good old fashioned wash job. If you're tyring to take off too much dust, not good. Dust, at least to some degree, is an abrasive.

I use mine regularly and like it!

Good luck

I've been using the same one for around 8 years and it's never scratched any of my cars.

Ive had mine for about 10 years and use it regularly with no scratches. When I prchased it I was told that the dirtyer it gets the better it will work. Mine has never been cleaned and works great.

I use mine regularly without any problems. I prefer to use it to get the garage dust off after the car has been sitting for a while instead of using a car cover. The only time I feel comfortable using the cover is when I know the car is VERY clean and the cover won't pick someting up and grind it into the paint as I put it on or take it off.

I use mine on a black clearcoat with great results...I shake it after every light pass...When new they streak, but they get better with age!

There`s a new one out..."Mississippi Duster"...after you use it, It looks like a 2 tone primer paint job and you went off mud whompin.......:D :D :D :D

At work we use new bottoms of dust brooms. The big long ones with the fibers that look like what is on the california duster. Use some spray on wood polish generously on it then gently run if over the car, works great.

Do you throw these in the Washing Machine or do you just let it get blacker and blacker and let it do it's thing. Have had mine about 3 years now and it works great. But it is kind of Black....
