Alternator woes....
Anybody have any clue as to how to properly check the rectifier bridge of an alternator for a 1974 corvette? According to the manual, mine is AFUd, but every new one I have tested is the same. The alternator is not putting out 14V, the regulator and stator and diode trio all check out to the correct readings according to the manual. I just don't get it.

THe best way I found was with the bridge on the bench first fold back the straps under the nuts to isolate each diode before checking as per the manual.

I guess being an old phardt Electronics guy gives me an unfair advantage....
I just hook an oscilloscope up to the alt output stud, and look at the waveforms....tell in an instant if it's the diode pack.....

I did that. According to the scope it's bad. At least I think so, the entire wave was present and I was told that only the positive part of the wave should be there.
