No way !!! I would find a way to have both. Sure I'd like to have a C5 to beat on and have fun, but getting rid of that fine piece of ART would break my heart. :nonod:

A few months ago I would have said to keep the classic without a doubt, but since then I've added a C4 to the garage... and I love it! I'd honestly have a hard time deciding which one to keep if I had to sell one. It's just so nice to have a Vette that I can drive anywhere, anytime, when the mood strikes. I've put more miles on the C4 in a month than I did on my old '68 all last year, and it's winter! (no snow driving, just sunny days)
I'm seriously thinking about selling the C4 this summer to get a C5, but that financial hit will slow down my progress on the '68. We'll see...

AGVI,
I have had two Corvettes in my life. I do not switch at a flip of the hat, believe me. I am just thinking and wanted input.

Flareside,
I hear you but the C2 is very dependable. It's getting down to a question of age and creature comfort: ergonomics. Lower back pain can do wonders to alter your perspective as to needs.

Paul
I had a 67 Roadster fully loaded (327/350hp AC 4sp pw) in about the same condition as yours. We got a 2001 C5 Roadster and we always ended up taking the C5. I put my 67 up for sale and sold it within a week for alot of money. I haven't missed it too much, but there are times I wished I hadn't sold it. But the C5 is JUST soooooo much of a superior car than my 67. If your doing it for investment, KEEP your 67!!!!!
We went on a 500 mile (one way) with a couple of friends in their C5 and it was just so nice to cruise at 80-85 (under 2K rpm's) and getting 27 mpg (try doing that in a 67). I have a 75 Convertible that is a Top Flight car that I rarely drive we still take the C5 on trips, but the older ones are fun.
Why not just keep the 67, and try to find a very nice cheap C5 (with the C6 coming prices are dropping) and see how you like it for awhile. You could always sell it.
If you sold your 67 you may have a hard time ever buying one back in as nice of condition as your is. Prices are rising on older Corvettes and it's getting extremely hard to find a nice car for a reasonable price.
Keep the 67 and buy a cheap C5 -------Just my .02 :steering: :steering: :steering:

Never!
I own a C5 and a C3. The C3 is much more important to me than the C5.
You got a piece of history and should keep it forever. They are not making anymore.

Re: Would You Trade This C2 for a C5? (paul67)
Paul, it's not that the older cars are unreliable, I've never had a C3 break down on the road. The later cars are just so much easier to live with for normal transportation. The C5 can do everything that any other car on the road does, a nice classic Vette is a different story. It may be capable of everything you need, but will you be willing to put the car through that?
It all depends on what you want to do with the car. My free time is pretty limited sometimes, so a car that can provide daily driver type service gets WAY more use around here. Like everyone else said, the real solution is two cars... :D

Even though the C5 is a beautiful car, I WOULD NEVER TRADE your car. Your car exudes class, beauty, and sophistication. That is something todays cars will never have. Just my opinion.
