Help on 4SP Transmission identification.
Can someone help with the identity of the tranny in my '69? The tranny has my VIN stamped on it with a 19S preceeding it. Near that is what I think is a date code: P9R20B . Near the top center of the tranny there is a number 3925661 ( the last number "1" is a bit hard to read ). It also has a US patent stamp of 3088336 nearby. A bolt on the lower left side has a metal tag under it with the number 946798. The tail piece has a number on it 3857584. Can anyone help identify this tranny??

From what I found from 2 separate sources
The "B" means its an M21 (a "C" would mean M22 and an "A" would mean M20....

Wow Such a quick response. Thanks Mike and Mr D.
So to sum up what I believe I have learned from your information is the following:
P9R20B means it was built Oct 20th 1969 and is a Muncie M21 close ratio tranny.
