77 Vette. Wheel specs.
Hey guys. I have a pretty much stock 77 Vette. I am interested in upgrading the wheels. I am thinking about either 17x8 all around, 17x9 all around, or 17x8 front 17x9 rear??? What is a good combo here? What back spacing & offset do I need?
Also what size tires would I be looking at front and rear?
Is it possible to go with 17x11 rear??
I am leaning toward the American Racing Torque Thrusts.
Thanks for any guidance.

Alex, I don't know about the max tire sizes, but will watch this thread with interest (as I have the same Qs).
Here's a hint, though: One limiting factor for the rear wheel/tire width is this little annoying bracket on the side of the trailing arms for the parking brake. You can cut this off and weld it to the top of the T-arm as described in other posts here.
If you want to go wider, the next step would be to use offset T-arms, etc.

Re: 77 Vette. Wheel specs. (77TexVette)
Thanks for the info and tips Michael. Much appreciated!
Although I'd like to go as wide as I can in the rear I have ZERO experience welding so I'd like to avoid it if I can can.
Basically I would like to know what the largest wheel/tire combo I can get on there without mods. Then go from there.
Hopefully we'll get some input from others :)
