Are Bug catchers, streetable at all?
I like the look of a bug catcher like what Let 'er eat! has on his Vette.
I have just one question.
What about Rain?
I know some come with air filters so thats covered, but what happens when you get caught in the rain? Will a good downpour hurt the engine?
Do you have to pull over and wait it out??
this is what I'm talking about...

I used to run twin velocity stacks and never had a problem. I just covered them when the car was parked. It takes a lot of water to hydrolock an engine. just consider it free water injection.

I'd be a bit leary of bugs, too.....but unless there's a locust storm, you probably don't have anything to be concerned about. ;)

:seeya Been There... Done That! :yesnod: In 1999 I got caught in a bad rain storm coming back from the "Hot Rod Power Tour" I did get some water down in the engine (not to bad) I just gave it more fuel. :yesnod: It back fired thru the exhaust a couple of times but it wasn't to bad.

I have run both stacks and bug catchers over the years. Neither gave me any major problems on the street and they look cool. I also made a fairly heavy plastic cover that I would slip over them (if the car was left unattended in public) that the hood would close over and hold in place to help prevent theft and objects being tossed in the motor. Better safe than sorry.
