Default C3 CAD file

Anyone have a CAD file for a C3, 1969 coupe preferred.

Looking to render some body mods (flares) and paint combos.

Thanks, Keith

I believe someone was working on this at sometime, but dunno if it ever turned out? I'd be interested too for body and suspension mods.

I think it wasn't until the GM started using CAD for the C4 that they finally got body panels to fit right! :lolg:

We are going to start modelling the whole car! Including the body, but most of all the under carriage. Our project has just started, but it's definately going to get stronger soon...

Here is a picture of trailing arm that I modelled a while ago:

That's a fine looking drawing you have there. Isn't it going to take a long, long time to do the entire car????

Dalannex: Yes, it's going to take a long, long time until the whole car is modelled...

EricR: we will keep you all updated. I will let you all know when we get the 3D modelling page ready in our homepage! That's the start for this BIG project!

Finn Shark, I have a model of a 61 right now if you want it. This one is more detailed than the other ones I sent you but would not be "Perfect" by any means.

Let me know

Is that done in IDEAS? It would be really cool (thus time-consuming) to do an FEA on the chassis

Madmikee: Do I want it? Yes, for sure! Can you send it to me by e-mail? Thanks!

nitrocharger: No, that's done by CATIA5, but I'm able to convert all models to IGS and STEP, so it should be possible to get those models to FEA programs too! That would be really cool to get FEA results of different parts also! although for now the trailing arm is not modelled so well, that it could be used in FEA. But it is possible to do FEA model too out of parts though!

By the way, I think there was somebody in this forum who was doing a stress analysis out of C3 frame a while ago. Anybody remember who he was and what has happened to his models? :seeya

He probably passed out when he discovered the results and hasn't recovered since!

There are some great autocad models out there. Might as well spend some $$ to get the body skin instead of doing all the hard work yourself.

Here's some sites that has the skins for a lot of models (and lots of Corvettes too)
