Quieting the holley electric pumps.
Most of us hate the sound of the holley bumps. The noise can be heard over the motor at idle and it becomes annoying.
I run twin holleys on both my cars because I don't trust one not to let me down sometime.
I also keep 2 new ones in the shop incase one quits.
Anyway I found these vibration dampers off another job and found they fit the holley bump bolt pattern perfectly.
I drill and tap the frame for 3/8th thread and using a cap screw through the middle hole and bolt the damper to the frame. I then bolt the pump to the flange.
The vibration damper consists of 2 plates with a 1 inch rubber bonded to the plates but keeping them isolated.
I found it dramatically cut the noise down.
Between the blower whine and the exhaust I no longer hear the pumps
Double click to enlarge. These can be bought at a local bolt supply house.

If your pump is annoying you, you need better mufflers!! :jester
Seriously, I can barely hear mine over the exhaust at idle. I'm surprised you can hears over all that mechanical mayhem goin on. What kind of exhaust are you running?

yeah, I was wondering the same, do they really make that much noise?? WOW. Are you sure it isn't chatter through the fuel line from the pressure?
My SX pump is pretty quiet.

I have a hearing loss, deaf in one ear almost 50% in the other, and I can hear the Holley over the side pipes when idling at the light....drives me nuts.
I cut a shock bushing in half and used that, it did quiet it down, but not enough.

The Holley blues are horrible as far as noise. I'm running a Wal-bro EFI pump and I cannot hear it with the engine running. Actually I can't hear it with the engine off if the blower motor is on!
