Default L82 pushrod guides?

I had the intake off my 1979 L82 this weekend & noticed screw in rocker studs & guide plates. Was this factory? When I peered through the block looking into the timing chain I could see the GM plastic timing chain gear. I guess it's possible someone may have rebuilt the heads & not touched the timing chain but it all looks factory to me. The block numbers do show it was the correct engine for the car. I wish I would have thought to grab head numbers before I installed the valve covers.

Yes, the L82 had valve guideplates. I was just as surprised when I made this discovery, too. Especially when I learned the original heads are crummy smog heads!
