A new option. Whadya think/
My wife has told me that we will have about $4000.00 to do the body work and paint on our '76 this summer. One CF member mentioned possibly taking the money and putting a down payment on a C5.
My darling wife is now thinking maybe it would be better to go shopping for a really nice '76 and use the money to "buy up" rather than "fix up".
I would rather build up the car over the years so that I can say that I did it.
After looking seriously at what I need to do, I think it would be cheaper to buy up.
What do you think? Buy a good car, or save a marginal car? (I'm not concerned about the money end of it)

I sold a finished car so that I could buy my current project. Is it a good investment? Definitely not. Does it keep me entertained and interested? You bet, and that's what I want from my "hobby".

I agree with both Verskel and Flairside it just depends on what you want, I'm like Flairside much of the fun is in rebuilding.

No matter what you buy you will spend money fixing it up. If you buy a c6, you'll want exhaust, etc.. same with any vette. I personaly think Hobby is the key word. Its a toy and therefor will always need a little something even if its just trying out a new wax. just my opi robert :flag

I would go with the following; You know what you have. Unless you have definate terminal flaws in your car, stick with it. (as opposed to buying a better '76) Buying a 95 is another decision altogether.

I want to stick with the C3 because that's my favorite vette by far. I'm would go with another 76 because it is the bicentenial vette and the last stingray,(Just my own personal thing) and because they are very affordable.

[I think you should buy another 76. And keep the one you have. 2s better than one. ]
:iagree: my plans exactly.
